Creating positive Jewish identities in a meaningful and fun way
The
goal of Beth Am's Religious School is to provide students with the knowledge
and experiences that will let them feel comfortable as Jews in the synagogue,
in the larger world, and within themselves. The school places an emphasis
on educating the family as well as the students and provides many programs
throughout the year in which families can learn together.
A strong Hebrew and prayer curriculum emphasizes Hebrew as both a sacred and
a living language for Jews. At each grade level, students gain increasing
competency in prayer skills, reinforced through participation in our Tot
Shabbat and Young Leaders Services, and regular congregational services.
Through interactive activities, engaging discussion, and formal texts, students
learn about holidays, mitzvot, Israel, Jewish history, Torah and philosophy.
The learning process is experiential and involves use of all the senses.
Music is a regular part of each lesson.
Our Shoreshim program is an exciting program
at Beth Am for families with preschool-age children. The Gan Am program for
Kindergarten students and the Machina class for first graders both meet on
Sunday mornings. Classes for second through seventh graders are held on Wednesday
afternoons and Sunday mornings.
Almost every Beth Am student continues in the Religious School following his
or her Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Click

Jewish Values through Avodah (service) for 8th and 9th graders of Religious
School and Day School backgrounds.
The Religious School faculty and staff includes some of the area's most engaging
educators. We know this, because the students actually say they enjoy coming
to Religious School! (Yes, they really do!)
